SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A fire of unknown origin tore through a vacant house in the Skyline area Wednesday afternoon.

The blaze in the 7000 block of Tuther Way erupted for unknown reasons shortly before 1 p.m., according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.

It took firefighters about 25 minutes to gain control of the flames, which spread to patches of brush behind the home.

The monetary losses were set at roughly $200,000 to the structure and $150,000 to contents. The cause of the fire was under investigation.

No injuries were reported.

The owner of the house told authorities no one was currently living there.

The cause of the fire was not immediately clear.
