SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - San Diego may soon get its own giant Ferris wheel.
The proposed 400-foot Ferris wheel -- called the Skywheel at Discovery Point -- would go up south of the Midway Museum. The project has 30 gondolas that could each transport 25 riders.
Developers say the $200 million project, which SeaWorld is partnering in, would offer high-tech light shows and cultural exhibits, as well as sweeping views of San Diego County and beyond on its skywheel.
Before the project can get under way, the San Diego Port District must first give its approval.
