SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority on Thursday opened a Global Entry enrollment center at the San Diego International Airport.
Global Entry is a CBP travel program that gives expedited clearance to pre-approved, low-risk travelers. Now, conditionally-approved Global Entry applicants can now register for an interview with a CBP officer at San Diego's airport.
"We are pleased to open a Global Entry Enrollment Center in the metro San Diego area for those wanting to become a trusted traveler," said Port Director William Snyder.
The enrollment center is open Tuesday through Thursday from 12 p.m., to 4 p.m. A CBP officer will only interview Global Entry applicants with appointments.
Global Entry members are eligible for TSA Pre-Check and bypass traditional CBP inspection lines and use an automated kiosk to complete their admission to the United States.
