SAN DIEGO — Parents in San Diego County found out Friday that they would now have their children home. Many teachers say they were scheduled for meetings Monday to find out exactly what students will need to be doing at home.
Well, here’s a schedule you may have seen floating around social media from Jessica McHale photography. Homeschool experts tell me that the key is sticking to a daily schedule, which does include learning.
Scholastic is offering free online daily courses for pre-school up through middle school. Kahn Academy is also a great free site and has lessons and video instruction in almost every subject from pre-school all the way to AP high school classes.
Also, check out teacherspayteachers.com. It's a site where teachers share their lessons with other teachers. Right now, some of the links on it are free to download.
If your child loves science or history, check out the Smithsonian Channel website. My kids love a site called coolmathgames.com.
And instead of just watching YouTube, look for TEDEd -- it's TED talks but for learning with awesome video-based lessons for all ages.
