SAN DIEGO — A homicide investigation is underway after one person was shot and killed and two others were injured in the San Diego neighborhood of Lincoln Park.
San Diego Police say they responded to a call about a shooting just before 2:40 Tuesday morning. When they arrived, they found three gunshot victims inside the garage of a residence.
A 20-year-old male suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the chest, a 16-year-old female was shot in her arm and abdomen and a 17-year-old male was shot in the leg.
Responding Officers and Paramedics immediately began providing medical aid to each of the victims.
The 16-year-old and 17-year-old victims were taken to the hospital with what are considered non-life-threatening injuries according to SDPD.
The 20-year-old male was pronounced deceased at the scene at 03:00 a.m.
Police say a shooter was seen fleeing the scene, however, there currently is no suspect description or information on a getaway car.
SDPD said that it appears that there may be some type of relationship between the victims and the suspect but the specifics have not been confirmed at this time.
The deceased 20-year-old male has been identified but his name is not being released at this time pending family notifications. The two teenage victims have been identified but their names will not be released.
