MOUNTAIN CENTER, Calif. — A court-appointed trustee filed a petition last week in Palm Springs probate court asking a judge to approve the sale of missing woman Dia Abrams’ Sky High Ranch near Idyllwild.
Trustee Richard Munro wants the judge to approve the current high offer of $298,000 for the 15-acre ranch located at 28893 Bonita Vista Road, which has been on the market since October 2023.
A hearing is set for July 29, when the judge is expected to approval for the sale. All parties involved in the Abrams probate case have signed a stipulation agreeing to the sale, according to court filings.
Munro is charged with liquidating Abrams’ estate consisting of three properties in Mountain Center, as well as other assets.
Abrams went missing on June 6, 2020 from her 117-acre, Bonita Vista Ranch. Her body has not been found.
The Bonita Vista Ranch located at 58111 Bonita Vista Road, has not yet been listed on the market.
Abrams’ five-acre rental home located at 36581 Tool Box Spring Road closed in April at a sale price of $840,000, property records showed. Most of the money from that sale would be used to pay off the existing mortgage, including mortgage payments in default since April 2020, according to court filings.
Munro’s petition for the sale of the Sky High Ranch stated, “The Trustee was receiving monthly rent from tenants until March 2024, and he engaged a contractor to empty and inspect a septic tank on the property prior to sale.”
Similarly, Munro’s petition related to the sale of the Tool Box Spring property indicated he hired contractors to “empty and inspect two septic tanks" on that property.
Riverside County probate judge Russell Velasquez will also hear arguments July 29 on a motion filed by Abrams’ former boyfriend and ranch hand, Keith Harper, asking the court to award him $494,298 for managing Abrams' estate over 43 months.
In various interviews with news organizations, including CBS 8, Harper, 74, said he was the last person to see Abrams alive on her ranch. He also admitted he was a suspect in her disappearance. No arrests have been made by Riverside County Sheriff homicide detectives.
In November, Judge Velasquez removed Harper as co-trustee of the Abrams estate, after he allegedly tried to list the Bonita Vista Ranch for sale in violation of court orders.
Harper’s current address has not been made public. He owns properties in Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona, real estate records showed. His location as a sex offender registrant has not been updated on the California Megan’s Law website, which still has him listed as living near Idyllwild.
The trustee has posted a $300,000 reward for information that leads to the discovery of Abrams’ remains and the conviction of a suspect in her disappearance.
