SAN DIEGO (CNS) - The man who sexually assaulted and murdered Amber Dubois and Chelsea King has told a network TV crew that, if for some reason he was ever set free, he would kill again.
"I will kill, I know I will," John Albert Gardner III said in an excerpt made available on the show's website.
"I'm the most dangerous type," he said. "I'm a sexual predator. I'm the type that needs to be locked up forever."
Gardner, 31, pleaded guilty to kidnapping, sexually assaulting and murder and on May 14 was sentenced to two consecutive life prison terms without parole for killing the 14-year-old Dubois near Escondido, and the 17-year-old King near Poway.
Gardner's first interview since then will be shown on the CBS News program "48 Hours," which airs in San Diego at 10 p.m. tonight on CBS8.
