SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Two new medical facilities will open in San Diego Wednesday.
Kaiser Permanente is set to begin operations in a 50,000-square-foot medical office building in Carmel Valley at 3851 Shaw Ridge Road. Along with services like cardiology, dermatology, radiology, neurology, a pharmacy and a lab, the facility houses Kaiser's first comprehensive women's care center in Southern California.
Cosmetic procedures, a women's specialty store, lactation rooms and consultation, mammography, obstetrics, gynecology and other services will be provided at the location.
Also this morning, Rady Children's Hospital will hold a grand opening celebration for a cardiovascular intensive care unit at its Kearny Mesa location.
Hospital executives said the state-of-the-art facility will provide advanced patient monitoring, lab testing, radiology exams and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, which circulates blood so that oxygen can be supplied to the body.
The hospital is also planning for pediatric heart transplants to take place in the unit in the near future.
