Lindbergh Field gets 2nd overnight air traffic controller

Lindbergh Field is among several airports slated to get a second overnight air traffic controller.

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Lindbergh Field is among several airports slated to get a second overnight air traffic controller.

This move follows an incident in Reno, Nevada where a worker apparently fell asleep on the job Wednesday morning, forcing a pilot to land without help from the tower. That marks the seventh incident of sleeping controllers.

Last month, two jets landed at Washington's Reagan National Airport while the lone air traffic supervisor was asleep. Other incidents took place in Tennessee, Seattle and Texas.

The FFA is taking immediate action.
