SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - A motocross racing crash in Florida turned fatal Monday for a Scripps Ranch teenager.
Sixteen-year-old Jantz Grodzicki was taken off life support Monday morning and died a short time later. He was competing in the Thor Winter Olympics when he attempted to clear a triple jump and crashed.
Although Grodzicki was wearing a helmet and neck brace, his spinal cord was believed to have been severed. His heart stopped, but he was revived before being flown to a nearby hospital.
