4.1 magnitude earthquake shakes Northern California

The quake was initially estimated at magnitude 5.7 but was downgraded.

ISLETON, Calif. — A preliminary magnitude 4.2 earthquake struck Sacramento County, Wednesday.

The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake struck around 9:30 a.m. about three miles southwest of Isleton. It's near Rio Vista and Bethel Island, California.

The quake was initially estimated at magnitude 5.7 but was downgraded.

A few people reported feeling it as far north as Lincoln and as far south as San Jose. Many people got a ShakeAlert on their phones. There are no immediate reports of damage.
