BARSTOW, Calif. — An earthquake with a preliminary 4.6 magnitude rattled the Barstow area Friday night.
The U.S. Geological Survey says a temblor with a preliminary magnitude of 4.6 hit shortly after 7 p.m.
There were no immediate reports of damage from the earthquake in Los Angeles County, according to the Sheriff's Information Bureau.
`Damage is not very likely from an earthquake of this size," USGS seismologist Clara Yoon told City News Service. "Los Angeles is far enough away that you might feel some light shaking or maybe no shaking at all."
The region has seen a series of small aftershocks.
Residents across Southern California reported having felt the shake.
