SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - The San Diego Zoo's new 4-D theater featuring "Rio: The 4-D Experience" is now open.
The attraction is in the Children's Zoo. Surrounding the 4-D theater are festive sights and sounds of the rain forest, with several macaw species, along with the sounds of samba music.
"Rio: The 4-D Experience" is a 12-minute theater presentation with an action-packed story. When a gang of greedy bird smugglers captures the last two blue macaws on Earth, Blu and Jewel, they work together despite Blu's inability to fly. They embark on the adventure of a lifetime as they try to escape the claws of evil cockatoo Nigel.
With a variety of in-theater special effects, "Rio: The 4-D Experience" will take zoo guests on a thrilling journey through Rio de Janeiro while sharing the challenges facing wildlife around the world.
It costs $5 for zoo members, and $6 for non-members.
