SAN DIEGO — The San Diego Fire-Rescue Department's Metro Arson Strike team was investigating Wednesday after four cars were found on fire in Mountain View.
The cars were found at the intersection of 35th Street and Webster Avenue. MAST says the fires are certainly suspicious in nature. They say at this time it is unclear if the fire spread to the other cars or if multiple fires were originally set.
One car that was severely damaged belongs to a pregnant woman who counts on her car to get her to work. She said early Wednesday morning she heard a loud boom and looked outside the window and saw flames. Captain Will McLaughlin says the boom was most likely a tire.
The owners of all four vehicles have been notified. No injuries were reported, and the extent of the damage is unknown.
