SAN DIEGO — One person is dead after a shooting in San Diego Saturday night near the UTC Mall in University City, according to SDPD.

Police received a report around 8:40 p.m. that shots were fired at Nobel Drive and Lombard Place, just south of the Westfield UTC Shopping Center. When officers arrived, they found two victims, one male in the street and another male located near the entrance to an apartment parking garage. Both males had multiple gunshot wounds and were taken to a local hospital.

The male found in the street was pronounced dead at the hospital. Police detectives are working to confirm his identity.
