SAN DIEGO — WARNING: The video above contains footage from the Oct. 7 Hamas attacks that may be disturbing to some.
A new documentary shows Hamas' horrific attack on a music festival in Israel like you've never seen it before.
The documentary was titled, "We Will Dance Again," and features cell phone videos and interviews from people who were there on October 7, 2023.
Among those sharing their stories is a student named Eitan.
“I remember at one point that there was a really big explosion and I flew back,” he said. “Someone flew on me. And when I finally got up, I realized that I was sitting in a pile of bodies.”
For Eitan, the nightmare of that day is far from over.
“The real problem with all this is that what Hamas started on the 7th of October hasn't ended up till now,” he told CBS 8 during an interview to preview the documentary. “We're not dealing with the aftermath. We're still dealing with the event itself.”
CBS 8 also spoke with the documentary’s director, Yariv Mozer, who talked about the importance of this project.
“There is a devastating war that is continuing and the price is very high on both sides, but you need to remember where it all started... and it started on the 7th of October with Hamas' decision to invade Israel and start a brutal massacre,” Mozer said.
Eitan survived by heading in the opposite direction of the majority of people fleeing the festival. He then hid in a concrete structure.
Now he's hoping this documentary will help lead to the safe return of the remaining hostages so he, and the others there that day, can truly start to heal.
We Will Dance Again will be available for streaming on Paramount+ starting September 24.
