Want to grab a coffee from the new Better Buzz location? Prepare for long drive-thru lines

"The morning does get a little busier, the cones are there as a precaution. We do our best to move that line along quickly, and be a good neighbor," Cameron said.

SAN DIEGO — A local coffee chain is creating a lot of buzz.

The Better Buzz on Mission Gorge Road in San Diego just opened. But their success has come with traffic congestion. Coffee lovers who crave their caffeine are also creating long lines though. The parking lot is small and the spots are tight. CBS 8 viewers reached out to say the high volume of cars is comparable to the nearby In-N-Out Burger.

Christopher Gris, a Better Buzz customer, said the lines were too long to brave the drive-thru.

"We thought about doing the drive-thru, but it was going outside on to the street, so we just parked," Gris said.

Customer Charlie Cass agreed. He said he enjoyed the coffee, but wasn't enthused about the traffic.

"If you were in a rush, it would be kind of annoying," customer Charlie Cass said.

Amanda Cameron, the VP of Marketing for Better Buzz, said they are aware of the congestion, but are trying to be mindful of people in the area.

"The morning does get a little busier, the cones are there as a precaution. We do our best to move that line along quickly, and be a good neighbor," she said.

Additional team members are inside brewing and outside taking order in the drive-thru line during peak times. Many say the unique brew is worth the wait.

"The response from the community has been phenomenal, Cameron said. "It truly does serve a better buzz. When you drink our coffee, you have a better day."

Better Buzz has been roasted in Vista since 2002. They pride themselves on serving an elevated coffee experience.

"We're always looking at better ways to serve our guests," Cameron said.
