RAMONA, Calif. — Firefighters are getting a handle on a brush fire that broke out near the 300 block of Hanson Lane in Ramona. According to Cal Fire, the four acre fire was reported just before 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
The fire, named the Hanson fire, was initially reported by Cal Fire as a fire with "light, flashy fuels and a moderate rate of spread".
Cal Fire reported that the forward rate of spread was stopped just after 1:20 p.m. after burning four acres. Ramona Firefighters will remain on scene until at least 3:30 p.m. for mop-up and containment line construction.
This fire comes just 10 hours before a Red Flag Warning goes into effect in San Diego County at 11:00 p.m. Tuesday through 6 p.m. on Thursday.
