OCEANSIDE, Calif. — Firearms Unknown on Oceanside Blvd. was boarded up with locked doors after a car smashed into it Monday morning.
CBS 8 spoke to a store employee who said a stolen car drove through the storefront around 3:30 a.m. Monday morning and broke the front window and damaged some cases.
The employee said the thief or thieves grabbed whatever they could and took off.
So far, it's unknown how many guns were stolen or if there is any suspect information. CBS 8 reached out to Oceanside Police but have not heard back.
The Firearms Unknown employee said the store plans to reopen sometime this week.
CBS 8 spoke with Brennen Walker outside the store Monday night. He was shocked to see it closed and boarded up.
“I was super excited going to buy the wife her first firearm today and I wasn’t able to do that,” Walker said.
Walker is a regular at Firearms Unknown. He said he comes by around every other week.
“I almost kind of take it personal for someone to completely trash their store like that you know, I hope they catch whoever the heck it is,” Walker said.
Monday's incident is similar to what happened in Poway back in March. The San Diego County Sheriff's Department said four people drove a stolen vehicle into the front of Poway Weapons and gear and stole guns.
Later that month, the four suspects were arrested after a multi-agency investigation led officers to arrests in Las Vegas.
