CARLSBAD, Calif. — Police cleared the scene Monday night after investigating a bomb threat at La Costa Resort & Spa, the Carlsbad Police Department reported. The response came after a suspicious phone call was made to the resort, according to a tweet from the agency.
At 7:40 p.m., police said the scene was cleared and the threat to the resort was found to be false.
Carlsbad Police thanked multiple agencies for their assistance including a California Highway Patrol K-9 unit from Oceanside, a Marine Corps K-9 unit, Carlsbad firefighters and San Diego sheriffs along with resort management and security.
Police said the investigation into the origin of the threat was ongoing.
