SAN DIEGO — The College Area may soon have a new In-N-Out.
On May 30, the family-owned burger chain submitted a development permit to demolish the old Rite Aid at 64th and El Cajon Boulevard and build a new drive-thru.
According to the plans, the restaurant will have 82 parking spaces and be able to handle 35 cars in the drive-thru.
According to the application, the company is now conducting an environmental review that examines several potential issues including traffic.
Once complete, the local planning group will have an opportunity to weigh in before heading to the city for final approval.
The proposal comes days after the chain announced that it was raising prices to help meet the $20 minimum wage requirement that California passed in January.
A company spokesperson said the price hike will likely jump by a few dollars and a double-double combo will soon cost around $10 before sales tax.
