SAN DIEGO — More than 80 people worked out at KMF Crossfit on Saturday to show support for the family killed in Paradise Hills last weekend. The event was held in honor of Sabrina Rosario and her sons who were killed by her estranged husband in a murder-suicide.
Family and friends said Sabrina had an incredible personality. They said she was down to earth, and people loved being around her.
Rosario used to work out at KMF Crossfit with her sister, Gloria, who said she was the ultimate warrior. She said, “I want everyone to remember my sister as a strong woman.”
The gym also raised money for the ongoing medical expenses for Rosario’s 9-year-old son, Ezequiel Valdivia who was in critical condition at a local hospital following the shooting. The boy's uncle said Sunday the 9-year-old was taken off life support late Friday and passed away.
Rosario’s sister said they have had a lot of people praying and donating to them and that it means a lot to them.
Just yesterday, hundreds of people attended a vigil to pay their respects. Rosario’s mother credits their faith and support from the community for giving them strength.
While a large focus is on remembering and honoring the Rosario and her children’s life, her family is also using this opportunity to speak out against domestic violence.
Court records show Jose Valdiva recently began escalating threats against Rosario. She was granted a restraining order a day before she was killed. The family urges anyone going through the same thing to speak up.
