SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) – McDonald's is testing out its brand new menu option – Build Your Burger -- in only four restaurants in the country, and two are right here in San Diego.
The burgers are grilled to order and you can choose from 20 custom toppings. Customers can try the option at locations in Santee and Midway District.
The point is to give customers more options, but more importantly, it's to discover the most popular combinations that people like.
Customers place their orders on a tablet. This way, corporate can analyze the orders and learn which ingredient combinations are most popular.
If a new McDonald's burger appears on the menu, and it doesn't please your palate, we might be to blame. So pick wisely.
