SAN DIEGO — Get an up-close-and-personal look at San Diego wildlife for just $5 at Living Coast Discovery Center's Animals on the Bay Day!
"We're teaching about species that you could find here in your backyard and kind of giving everyone a glimpse of what the wildlife looks like here in San Diego," Marketing Manager Sadie Kluegers said.
That's exactly what you'll see Saturday, March 8 at the Living Coast Discovery Center. And, they take it even further with food trucks, local organizations, and a scavenger hunt for the kids.
"You'll get to see a lot of the faces of the Living Coast," Kluegers said. "They're going to be around and you get to learn about them and kind of find out why they're here, why they're special, or why they're important to our ecosystem."
You'll be able to see, hear and even touch some of the animals. Meet and learn about animals like Elvis the king snake and Tigo the barn owl or go and touch a sting ray at the shark and ray exhibit.
This year, programming will be offered in English, Spanish, and American Sign Language. There is an eagle feed, shark, ray, and sea turtle presentation. Plus, guided hikes throughout the day.
"We're gonna have a lot going on and you not only can learn about what we do, but what everyone in our community is doing and you get to have fun while doing it," Kluegers said.
It's not a discounted visit to the Living Coast Discovery Center. They're taking it up a notch by collaborating with local partners and making the day a fun and local learning experience.
Lots of people will be heading to Chula Vista on Saturday to enjoy Animals on the Bay Day for just $5. There will be free offsite parking, but make sure to still plan ahead.
"We just recommend everyone prepares to wait because we do have a limited capacity on site. But other than that, we're gonna be plugging people in as fast as we can," Kluegers said.
The event is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Living Coast Discovery Center in Chula Vista. Tickets are only $5 and can be bought on-site.
