Fourth of July | Everything you need to know about the 'Big Bay Boom' fireworks show

7,000 pounds of fireworks will be set off tomorrow night, according to organizers.

SAN DIEGO — Preparations are underway for the 'Big Bay Boom!' It is the largest 4th of July fireworks show on the West Coast, according to organizers.

The show begins at 9:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fireworks will be set off from four different barges.

As many as 500,000 people are expected to watch the show. 

Sam Bruggema of Pyro Spectaculars, said it took four days to set up for this show. It is expected to last 17-18 minutes long.

"The effects are absolutely amazing," he said. "They make you want to see them again."

"I'm excited just to see all the shells," he added. "There's some really unique things that I haven't seen enough of, and most people haven't seen at all."
