Family of Sacramento mother found dead pleads for safe return of missing kids

Their father has been named a person of interest. Authorities believe he crossed into Mexico, but said the kids may still be near San Diego.

SAN DIEGO — An international search continues for two missing children after their mom was found dead in Northern California.

Their father has been named a person of interest. Authorities believe he crossed into Mexico, but said the kids may still be near San Diego.

Friday marked five days since the kids were last seen and their mother was murdered.

CBS 8's sister station in Sacramento spoke with the heartbroken family.

"I think about them 24/7. Like even right now, I wish they were here. I wish we were all together," Gilbert Bravo said, who is the victim's brother.

Angelica Bravo’s brother says she was beautiful inside and out.

The 28-year-old Sacramento mom was found dead inside her home on Monday. The man she shares two children with Camron Lee has been named a person of interest.

Their kids, four-year-old Athena Lee and two-year-old Mateo Lee remain missing. Angelica’s mom fears they’re in danger and says the hope of being reunited with her grandbabies is what’s keeping her going.

Their father has been named a person of interest. Authorities believe he crossed into Mexico, but said the kids may still be near San Diego.

“Camron, if you hear this, just bring those babies back and just let them have a life of peace. You know they don't need a life of being on the run," Dawn Bodea said, who is the victim's mother.

Just as the California Highway Patrol was set to issue an Amber Alert for the two kids, Customs and Border Protection flagged that Lee’s vehicle had already crossed into Mexico.

Sacramento Police said the kids may have been dropped off somewhere in Southern California.

"They told us the car was found in Ensenada, abandoned. They didn't really get information if there were car seats in it," Bravo said.

There isn't word yet on how Angelica Bravo was killed, but the family says the couple had a tumultuous relationship. Bravo's brother and mother believe someone is helping Lee get around and are certain someone knows of his whereabouts. In the past, he mentioned moving to Guadalajara.

"We do know he's fluent in Spanish so that helps him move around in Mexico. We know that he's fluent in Korean too and he also has family in Korea that I'm aware of, so that's one of our fears, is that he might try to eventually get to Korea," Bodea added.

The family of course wants answers and those kids home safe. They’re holding a candlelight vigil later on Friday night in Sacramento.
