ENCINITAS, Calif. — The holiday season is here and it’s time to be dazzled by the illuminating installations at the San Diego Botanic Garden’s Lightscape.
Beginning on Nov. 17 through Jan. 1, a newly reimagined Lightscape will merge festive lights and sounds with nature and art for the holiday season.
The San Diego Botanic Garden, located at 300 Quail Gardens Dr. in Encinitas, will come to life with vibrant holiday displays and a newly reimagined custom-designed one-mile trail.
The new trail features international artistic installations paired with nature and sound.
Dates and times
- Open rain or shine from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m.
- November 17 –19, 22, 24 – 26, and 29 – 30
- December 1 – 3, 6 – 10, 13 – 23, and 26 – 30
- December 31 – January 1
- Closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day
Tickets
- Adult and child tickets range depending on the day
- Military members including, active, reserve, retired, veterans and families with ID get a discount

The trail
- The average time to complete the trail is between 1-1.5 hours
- There is no time limit once inside the garden
- Comfortable shoes recommended, the trail is 1-mile long on paved and dirt paths
