SAN DIEGO — On Tuesday, a third person died from injuries suffered in a predawn weekend house fire in Logan Heights, according to a GoFundMe page.

A second woman succumbed to her injuries Monday in a hospital, according to the county Medical Examiner's Office. A man died at the scene of the blaze four blocks west of state Route 15, which erupted for unknown reasons shortly before 4:30 a.m. Sunday, the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department reported.

Authorities have not released the victims' names, but a GoFundMe.com account set up to help their relatives with funeral expenses identified them as Nico Mayo and her husband, Jose A. Romero.

The couple's three children also were badly injured in the fire and remain hospitalized in critical condition, according to the donation website.

Firefighters responding to the blaze in the 3100 block of Clay Avenue arrived to find the family's home engulfed in flames with residents trapped inside.

Money raised by the GoFundMe page will go to the funeral expenses for the couple.
