SAN DIEGO — Mission Bay’s iconic Holiday Boat Parade of Lights shined brighter than ever with over 70 decked-out boats.
“It can’t get any better. Being able to come to the beach on a December night and seeing the boats, and seeing the lights, they took time to decorate their boats and just give us all a nice good show just for the people who live here. It's amazing, we’re just grateful," said San Diegan. Jesus Beltran.
“It’s amazing I couldn’t think of anything else I would rather be doing it’s just so heartfelt and so warming," said Ciarra Beltran, who attended the event with the entire family.
Hundreds of families celebrated the longstanding San Diego tradition at Paradise Point Resort.
The parade dates back decades, making it a favorite San Diego tradition.
“It really is a nice time to kinda step back and have a good time and be around your loved ones," said Ashley Thomas, who traveled from out of town.
“This is quintessential San Diego. The events been happening for so long. It is both from this community. So people that live right here by the resort. This is their way to kick off the season. So you're really getting that authentic San Diego neighborhood," said Lindsey Amador, with Paradise Point Resort and Spa.
Families I spoke to tell me the event is the perfect way get in the holiday spirit.
“They’re just getting to learn about the holiday traditions and they get to come out and enjoy the san Diego tradition of the lights and the parade," said Beltran. “Anytime we can wear holiday pajamas we’re going to do it."
