SAN DIEGO — 2020 is the 14th year the Secretary of State has given out their International Women of Courage Award. It recognizes women around the globe every year who have demonstrated exceptional courage and leadership in advocating for peace, justice, human rights and women’s empowerment, often at great personal risk and sacrifice.
This is the 5th consecutive year the San Diego Diplomacy Council has been chose to host the event. This program is core to the nonprofit San Diego Diplomacy Council’s goal of bringing international leaders to our region to discuss complex issues, learn business best practices, and promote global peace and security.

Through the Foundation, she works with senior army officials to combat child recruitment and obtained the military’s commitment to release any child recruited or detained.
