SAN DIEGO — The team of artists behind San Diego County’s most stunning Padres murals has unveiled its tribute to the team’s late chairman and owner, Peter Seidler, who died Tuesday at 63 years old.
An artist from Ground Floor Murals painted a new mural honoring Seidler in Little Italy on Tuesday evening. The beautiful tribute was completed hours after San Diego County and Major League Baseball learned the news of Seidler’s death.
The mural honoring the beloved late chairman and owner can be seen outside of Stone Brewing in Little Italy located at 1202 Kettner Blvd.
In a statement on Tuesday, Padres CEO Erik Greupner said, “The Padres organization mourns the passing of our beloved Chairman and owner, Peter Seidler.”
On Tuesday, the San Diego Padres displayed a memorial in honor of Seidler on the steps of Petco Park.
Dozens of fans, including Padres team members, have stopped by the Petco Park memorial to pay their respects to Seidler.
“Today, our love and prayers encircle Peter’s family as they grieve the loss of an extraordinary husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. Peter was a kind and generous man who was devoted to his wife, children, and extended family.” Padres CEO Erik Greupner said.

Joe Musgrove, Manny Machado, Yu Darvish, Fernando Tatis and other players have all been honored with a mural by the artistic team.
