Working Fur Kids | Help Rady Children's launch a Resident Canine Therapy Program in San Diego

Thank you to the generous donations from the San Diego community, the program is close to their goal but they still need your help.

SAN DIEGO — Rady Children's Hospital is a step closer to launching a new Resident Canine Therapy Program in San Diego thanks to the generous donations made by the community and sponsors during CBS 8's 'Working Fur Kids Giveathon’ with $412,295 raised so far. But we still need your help to reach the overall goal of $500,000.

There is still time to donate:

  • TEXT:  Text the word "KIDS" to 56512 for donation options
  • ONLINE: Make an online donation directly to the program

The Working Fur You Giveathon was filled with current and former Rady Children's Hospital patients and guests sharing their stories about how this program is needed in San Diego.  This wouldn't have been possible without every one of our generous viewers and sponsors.

Working Fur Kids goal:

The Working Fur Kids goal is to help bring joy, comfort and companionship to local kids braving illness by helping build a Resident Canine Therapy Program at Rady Children’s. Through this program, certified therapists and expertly trained dogs will soothe, motivate and support young patients—improving their experiences and outcomes.

Despite being at the forefront of pediatric medicine, our children’s hospital currently lacks such a program, and CBS 8 aims to bridge this gap with your help!  By making a monetary donation to “Working Fur Kids” we will raise the funding needed to kickstart this essential program that will mean so much to so many.
