As many fans remember, expectations weren’t super high at the start of the season which makes it so great to see how well the Padres have done.

"I was at a lot of the top moment games. It was fun to see all the walk offs and today was just electric it was super awesome," said Stephanie, a Padres fan.

The team’s success has generated lots of excitement all season long even from fans of opposing teams.

"We came out yesterday for today's game," said Sandy Burke, whose son Sean Burke was the starting pitcher for the White Sox on Sunday.  "My son is with the Chicago White Sox so he pitched today. We came out, we got a lot of fans and support with us it has been a great weekend."

Sunday's game was the 56th sellout of the season at Petco Park. The Padres set a new single season attendance record of more than 3.3 million fans this year.

"It's really awesome seeing the support they have with the city and how happy they are. It just gets the city going even more," said Iris, a Padres fan.

Seeing the city come together to support the Padres is what many fans love most.

"It just feels so awesome especially with a team that's so happy and so connected," said Valentine, a Padres fan.
