Roads back open after vegetation fire prompts evacuations in Poway

The fire was reported just after 3:30 p.m. off Scripps Poway Parkway near Pomerado Road.

POWAY, Calif. — Roughly 10 homes were evacuated in Poway Saturday after an RV caught fire and spread to vegetation, officials said. 

The fire was reported just after 3:30 p.m. along Scripps Poway Parkway near Pomerado Road. 

Homes along Old Stone Road and Oakview Way were evacuated, according to the San Diego Sheriff's Office. 

The intersection of Pomerado Road and Scripps Poway Parkway was closed due to the fire, but was fully reopened by 7 p.m.

The fire was knocked down by 8 p.m.

San Diego Fire-Rescue, the San Diego Sheriff's Office and Poway Fire all responded to the incident.
