Service restored after San Diego Fire responds to gas leak in Normal Heights

The break occurred when a contractor was digging and hit the gas line. About 55 customers were affected.

SAN DIEGO — San Diego Fire Department responded to the scene of a broken gas line Wednesday morning at 37th and Monroe Avenue in Normal Heights. Repairs were completed just after noon and service was restored to nearby residents. 

The break occurred when a contractor was digging and hit the gas line. About 55 customers were affected. 

There were some evacuations and shelter in place orders during the leak for some residents in the surrounding area.
