SAN DIEGO — San Diego local leaders gathered with Mayor Gloria and Supervisor Vargas at a press conference focusing on helping small businesses bounce back from flood damage.
There were several small business advocate organizations in attendance, like the San Diego Black Chamber of Commerce and the Strategic Alliance.
This program is designed to help small business owners devastated by last month’s flooding.
CBS 8 heard from a woman who works as a childcare provider and has been juggling several challenges since January 22.
On Thursday, the City of San Diego launched an emergency grant relief program. These grants vary anywhere from $2,500 to $5,000 for businesses and non-profit organizations.
The hope is to get 100 grants awarded to local organizations and businesses. The program is first come first serve.
City employees are going around San Diego handing out flyers to let business owners know about this program.
There’s also the grant program organized by the Strategic Alliance and the county to help these businesses that suffered flood damage.
