San Diego Tourism Authority asking residents for their perspective

The San Diego Tourism Authority has launched a 10-year Tourism Stewardship Process which will help shape the future of tourism in America's Finest City.

SAN DIEGO — The San Diego Tourism Authority launched a 10-year tourism stewardship program on Tuesday and is asking San Diegans to share their opinions and perspectives to help shape the future of tourism.

The Tourism Authority is asking any San Diego residents to fill out this 15-minute survey. In addition, submissions are entered to win the "Taste of San Diego" prize, which is a staycation with an estimated value of $1,500.

To put things in perspective, San Diego saw over 28 million visitors who contributed more than $13.6 billion to the local economy in 2022 alone, according to the San Diego Tourism Authority.

This survey and the following 10-year program play a vital role in the plan to update and innovate tourism in San Diego. The Tourism Authority has partnered with various organizations to provide comprehensive research, gauge industry as well as community engagement, and begin strategic planning updates.

“Our goal with this survey is to better understand the community experience and identify how we can support, improve, and enhance San Diego’s long-term quality of life and success as a destination for residents, businesses, and visitors,” said Julie Coker, President & CEO of the San Diego Tourism Authority.

This 10-year planning process focuses on driving long-term strategic investments over the course of the next decade. There are several factors in this process which include: brand perception, the ability to promote sustainable tourism practices, fostering diversity and inclusion, supporting workforce development, infrastructure investment

“Resonance, in partnership with HVS, Tourism Diversity Matters, and Tourism Impact Services, is thrilled to embark on this transformative initiative with the San Diego Tourism Authority to ensure that San Diego's tourism evolution is not only prosperous but also serves as a model for sustainable and inclusive tourism practices across the U.S. and the world,” said Chris Fair, President of Resonance.
