SAN DIEGO COUNTY, Calif. — On Friday, San Diego Fire-Rescue Department Lifeguards are investigating a fatality offshore near Sunset Cliffs, according to the San Diego Police Department.
SDFD Lifeguard Lt. Lonnie told News 8, at around 6:30 p.m. they received a call of a body floating about 200-yards away, in the water near Ladera St. and Sunset Cliff Blvd.
The person who called in the report was a fisherman looking for lobster.
Lifeguards in a vessel retrieved the body and took it to lifeguards HQ, where the body was transferred to the Medical Examiner for identification and cause of death, which are unknown at this time.
The victim is a male, however his age is unknown and he was fully clothed.
