Sheriff's investigating shooting that left 1 dead, 3 hurt

The victims arrived at Palomar Medical Center in Escondido.

ESCONDIDO - One person was killed and three were injured in a shooting at an unknown location in San Diego County early Saturday morning.

The San Diego County Sheriff's Department received a 911 call from a cell phone at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday near Civic Center Drive in Vista, according to homicide detectives. 

A short time later, five men arrived at Palomar Medical Center in Escondido. 

Four of the men had gunshot wounds.

Detectives say one of the victims, a 19-year-old man, died. Two others are in critical condition.

Homicide detective are collecting evidence, interviewing witnesses, and trying to locate a crime scene.
