The Easy Fire in Simi Valley reached full containment Saturday night, according to Cal Fire.

Cal Fire on Friday night reported the Easy fire was now 80% contained and still at 1,806 acres. Full containment is expected over the weekend.
11:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 31
The Easy Fire as of Thursday night was 60% contained and at 1,806 acres. All evacuation orders had been lifted earlier in the day.

Ventura County Fire Department have lifted all evacuation orders for the Easy Fire.

Overnight the Easy Fire burned another 78 acres bringing the total amount burned to 1,723 acres. Firefighters made progress on the fire, getting it ten percent contained. Ventura County Fire reports that more than 700 firefighters are still fighting the fire. Last night their control lines were tested by very strong winds, but the lines held.

The latest update from the Ventura County Fire Department puts the Easy Fire at 1,645 acres with 0% containment.

Southern California Edison says a huge wildfire that has forced thousands to evacuate broke out near its equipment northwest of Los Angeles.
Edison spokeswoman Caroline Aoyagi says the cause of Wednesday's wind-driven fire in Simi Valley has not been determined.
She says the utility has filed a required report with state regulators acknowledging flames were sparked within its service territory near a sub-transmission line, which was energized at the time.
Fire officials say they're investigating the cause of the Easy Fire. It has chewed through brush and trees near suburbs, horse ranches and the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.
About 7,000 homes are under mandatory evacuation orders.

An update from the Ventura County Fire Department put the Easy Fire at over 1,400 acres. The agency reported that weather conditions have improved.

During a noon press conference, fire officials said the Easy Fire remains at 1,300 acres and there were no containment numbers at that time. They reported that multiple outbuildings have been destroyed and one home was currently on fire.

Fire officials updated the size of the fire to 1,300 acres and say the fire is now threatening 6,500 homes.

Fire officials say the fire has grown to 972 acres. Aircrafts are continuing to drop fire retardant on the blaze that is being fueled by strong Santa Ana winds. Ronald Reagan Presidential Library spokeswoman Melissa Giller said the hilltop museum was safe. She said hundreds of goats are brought in each year to eat away vegetation that could fuel wildfires on the 300-acre grounds, where Reagan and his wife, Nancy, are buried next to each other on a hillside.

Firefighters in Ventura County are fighting a brush fire that recently sparked in Simi Valley near the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.
The fire, dubbed the Easy Fire, broke out sometime before 6 a.m. in the area of the 118 Freeway and Madera Avenue.
Ventura County Fire Department say the fire has already burned upwards of 250 acres.
The 23 Freeway was being shut down in both directions by California Highway Patrol.
Mandatory evacuations were ordered for the area bordered by Tierra Rejada to the north, Madera Road to the south, Madera Road to the east and Highway 23 to the west. This includes the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.
An evacuation center was set up at Thousand Oaks Community Center.
