Storm damages MTS lines, Orange line significantly impacted

MTS said on Tuesday that heavy rains have impacted the Blue, Green, and Orange lines, with the Orange suffering the most damage.

SAN DIEGO — San Diego transportation officials are encouraging commuters and travelers to plan according if they are using public transportation due to damage from heavy rains and flooding from the January 22 storm.

All three San Diego Metropolitan Transit System trolley lines will be running at lesser capacities than normal. Officials said the Orange Line had suffered most of the damage from the storm.

The Orange line is out of service between 12th & Imperial Transit Center and Courthouse Station as well as between Lemon Grove Transit Center.

MTS suggests that riders take the Blue Line at America Plaza or 12th & Imperial as an alternative for the downtown route. MTS said that buses will shuttle riders between impacted stations on the eastern disruption.
