Crowds flock to TwitchCon in San Diego

Games, interactive experiences and meet and greets were some of the activities attendees took part in at Twitchcon San Diego.

SAN DIEGO — TwitchCon made a stop in San Diego this weekend, attracting large crowds to a big event with technology, games and activities.

“It's like a meet-up for the community that watches streams,” TwitchCon Attendee Carlos Ramirez said.

Carlos traveled from Los Angeles to attend his first TwitchCon experience. He was able to meet some of his favorite streamers.

“It's great to be up close to them and say hello, real friendly people so I'm pretty happy with the outcome,” Ramirez said.

People got the chance to have a friendly competition, check out technology and make new friends.

“My husband was in the military and I was like you know what, me and my friends are playing games, why not stream it,” TwitchCon Attendee April Gomez said.

April is a streamer and was visiting San Diego from North Carolina. It was also her first time attending this event.

“It is my first TwitchCon so I'm like putting my feet in the water for next year so then I know what more to expect,” Gomez said.

In 2025, TwitchCon will be making an appearance in Rotterdam from May 31-June 1. The three-day event will return to San Diego Oct. 17-19.
