Two injured in border wall falls over the weekend

Customs and Border Protection said that two people are recovering after falling from the US-Mexico border wall this weekend.

SAN DIEGO — Customs and Border Protection said that two people are recovering after they fell from the U.S.-Mexico border wall Sunday morning.

CBP said the two people fell about 30 feet to the ground near Border Field State Park and were taken to the hospital.

This is now prompting even more concern from local leaders like Supervisor Jim Desmond. He said over 20,000 migrants have been dropped off at our border in the past month.

“San Diego County is now grappling with an average of nearly 600 migrants being street-released daily. If this trend persists, by the end of the year, we are projected to have over 52,000 migrants street-released in our region. This influx is on top of the over 200,000 migrants that have entered San Diego this year,” Desmond said.

He added that the situation in San Diego is reaching a breaking point. He urges the federal authorities to take swift and decisive action to bring stability and security back to the community.

"It is clear that our immigration system is broken and needs a comprehensive solution. The situation in San Diego is reaching a breaking point, and I urge federal authorities to take swift and decisive action to bring stability and security back to our community," Desmond said.

This also comes as the county board of supervisors voted to allocate 3 million dollars for migrant services and a migrant shelter —as more migrants are being released in San Diego streets.

Regarding any other details on Sunday's border falls, there is no word on whether there were other migrants who fell or were detained by Border Patrol agents.
