Wave of car vandalism leaves trail of damage in Mission Valley and Kensington communities

At least 10 cars along Friars Rd. in Mission Valley had windshields completely shattered.

SAN DIEGO — The San Diego Police Department is looking for any information from the public after several cars were vandalized in multiple communities across San Diego.

At least ten cars along Friars Rd. in Mission Valley had windshields completely shattered. The disturbing wave of vandalism swept through two San Diego neighborhoods, leaving some on edge.

"Stuff like that is scary. That is very disturbing," said longtime Mission Valley resident, Melanie Henry.

The vandalism left a trail of damage and inconvenience for owners how now face the hassle of repairing their car.

“My husband and I were riding our bikes, I counted 15," said Henry.

In Kensington, at least one vehicle had its window shattered while several more were found spray painted.

“It doesn’t seem to be safe anywhere," expressed one resident.

The concerned neighbor didn’t want to go on camera, but says she's not surprised by what happened.

“I’ve had three different cars broken into over several years. It’s scary. It’s scary because it’s like someone maybe braking into your home…. It’s your possession and someone is invading it”

San Diego Police said they are investigating the incident. They are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers.
