What's open and closed in San Diego on Veterans Day

Most county and city administrative offices will be closed in observance of the holiday.

SAN DIEGO — Most federal, state and local government offices will be closed Monday in observance of Veterans Day. Banks will also be closed, and the U.S. Postal Service will pause mail delivery.

Here is a partial list of what is open and closed in San Diego County:

San Diego County

All public San Diego County offices, family resource centers, libraries, animal shelters and public heath clinics will be closed. 

County parks, campgrounds and neighborhood day-use parks will be open with the following exceptions:

  • Fallbrook Community Center
  • Lakeside Community Center
  • Spring Valley Community Center
  • Spring Valley Gymnasium
  • 4S Ranch Recreation Office only (all parks will be open)
  • Community Teen Centers
  • Valley Center Community Hall and Adams Park Pool

City of San Diego

All City of San Diego administrative offices, libraries, swimming pools, recreation centers and public buildings in Balboa Park will be closed. Check with individual museums and other park attractions for their holiday schedules.  

Curbside trash, recyclables and organic waste will be collected as normal by the City’s Environmental Services Department.  Residents who are not served by the City of San Diego should check with their waste hauler for their holiday schedule.

Parking meters will not be enforced, but all red, white and blue zones will be.

Chula Vista

All Chula Vista city offices and facilities will be closed. Trash service will not be affected by the holiday.

Carlsbad

Encinitas

Santee

La Mesa

City offices will be closed and reopen Tuesday, November 12.

Solana Beach

City Hall will be closed.
