SAN DIEGO — Smoke may be visible to those in eastern San Diego County and its mountain regions Thursday. Cal Fire posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, warning the Campo community of a prescribed burn in the area.
A prescribed fire is a planned, controlled fire lit to mitigate wildfire risk.
The project is part of the county's efforts to reduce wildfires and also meet fuel reduction goals.
