SAN DIEGO — There's a new pet shop in North Park where you can spoil your dog with grooming, toys, yoga and even what's called a 'Sound Bath'.
In this Zevely Zone, I visited 'Pure Pawsh'.
North Park's new neighbor is a dog's best friend because Pure Pawsh is the one-stop shop for all dog lovers.
"Yes, I am here for it. I love it," said owner Ashley Carter. Her shop offers dog toys, treats and supplies, but there's so much more. "This is Bones. Bones is a puppy looking for his forever home," said Ashley who left her job in corporate America behind in hopes of helping local animal rescues.
"It really is so meaningful to see the community support us," said Jordan Frey from the San Diego Humane Society.
Jordan told us her organization is currently housing a record number of animals. Jordan applauds partners like Pure Pawsh as being part of the adoption solution. "I think this is amazing. I think my dogs and I are going to have to head down to North Park this weekend and check it out," said Jordan.
When Ashley says Pure Pawsh is a 'one-stop shop', she is not messing around.
"I am not. I am not messing around at all," she laughed.
Along with pet grooming, dog lovers can also get doggy day care and yoga.
"The beauty of the space is pretty awesome," said Aimee LaRue from Alignment and Love Yoga. Aimee calls the new shop dog heaven. Along with fun pet toys, customers can buy craft beer made for dogs.
"I don't know where else you can get that," laughed Aimee.
Pure Pawsh also offers weekly community events. Ashley recently hosted a speed dating event.
Ashley isn't just connecting people with dogs but people with people. "Puppies make for the best icebreaker," said Ashley. Every event offers some sort of component to help rescues like the San Diego Humane Society. "Donating is huge but also is just getting the word how important it is to adopt these little guys," said Jordan.
It is also a place to relax and unwind. Miguel Cardiel and Alexis Vizcarra from Mystic Vortex offer what they call a 'sound bath'.
I enjoyed relaxing with the puppy Bones as Mystic Vortex soothed us with relaxing sounds and breathing techniques.
Pure Pawsh is where every dog has its day. "Our slogan here is every dog deserves a pawsh-life and I believe in that whole heartedly. Lot's of puppy kisses," said Ashley.
