Wow! | 11-year old San Diego singer performs National Anthem at Padres game

7th grader's dream comes true as she knocks it out of the park at Petco Park.

SAN DIEGO — It was a dream come true for an 11-year old San Diego singer. Eva Mather performed the National Anthem at a Padres Game. Not many youngsters know what they want to do so early in life, but from the day I met Eva, in 2020, she told me she wanted to sing at Petco Park.

"So many emotions at once, but I can finally tell the younger me that your dream has come true," said Eva.

The Padres fan is a superstar singer and unafraid to step up to the plate. The seventh grader has been calling her shot for years.

"I want to sing for the Padres," she told me when she was eight years old. Not just sing, but take on, "The National Anthem," Eva said earlier this year.

Eva's been working her way to the top at smaller sporting events.

"And the rockets red glare," sang Eva at age 8 at a youth football game. Her parents Qian and Brian are not singers but they have 'entertained' their daughter's dream for years and when the Padres called back? "We were ecstatic, just amazing so happy, it's a dream come true for us really," said Brian.

I first met Eva in 2020 was when she was seven. "Welcome to my ninth concert," said Eva back then. During COVID she performed in a cul-de-sac before neighbors. I stood in amazement as she belted out Adele. "We could have had it all, rolling in the deep," she sang in front of the crowd.

Four years later it was off to Carnegie Hall to sing opera. Now, that angelic voice just got called up to big leagues to sing at Petco Park. Watch the story in this link for yourself, Eva knocked it out of the park!

Here's to knowing what you want in life. A little girl with big dreams and an even bigger voice who just delivered a walk-off performance before the game even started.

Eva's next goal is to sing the National Anthem at a Padre's World Series game. To follow her on Instagram, click here.
