SAN DIEGO (NEWS 8) – There is just something about a fresh coat of paint that makes anything feel possible.
In Thursday’s Zevely Zone, Jeff went to Oceanside where military veterans received a new home with a new look.
Mia Roseberry is the founder of Wounded Warrior Homes. She bought a house to help some heroes.
The home was painted the color of sand – which took Curtis Rutzinger right back to his three tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. Rutzinger was in the army and suffers from a traumatic brain injury. He said a fresh start in life goes well with a fresh coat of paint.
He and three other veterans, who have sacrificed so much, will live in the home Roseberry bought.
Sam Reisman and Grant Ramsey, with Wow 1 Day Painting, donated a day of labor. The paint for the new home was donated by Sherwin Williams. The three veterans said they would also like to thank Patriot Window Cleaning for pressure washing the house for free.
