Lockdown at Navy Broadway Complex lifted

Authorities are investigating reports of a suspicious person at the Navy Broadway Complex on Harbor Drive. The complex has been locked down during an investigation.

SAN DIEGO (AP) — A Navy official say the military branch's administrative complex in downtown San Diego was put on lockdown for more than two hours after officials received a report of a suspicious person with a weapon but nothing was found.

Navy spokesman Brian O'Rourke said the Navy Broadway Complex was put on lockdown around 12:30 p.m. Friday after Navy security forces received a report that an individual was spotted sitting in a vehicle holding a weapon in the parking lot.

O'Rourke says local law enforcement and military authorities swept the parking lot and buildings, and the lockdown was lift around 3 p.m. after nothing was found.

O'Rourke says many of the employees had left for the day because of the long Columbus Day weekend.
